Where an error belongs differs

  • • The session error callback receives only transport errors that belong to that session. A handshake failure has no session to call yet, and a socket-level or node-level error cannot be pinned to one session, so both go to runtime observation.
  • • An application handler's exception goes to the handler exception path.
